The project "Lokomotywa - strategy of cluster development " is the latest project led by the Bielska Gallery BWA in Bielsko-Biala during the years 2008-2011.
The project is led by the Gallery in partnership with Bielsko-Biala Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (www.cci.pl/) and Oslo Teknopol (www.osloteknopol.no) , which is based in Norway. It is co-financed by the Regional Policy and Cross-Border Programme of the Norwegian Finance Mechanism.. It is the only project under this measure to be selected from the Silesian Voivodship in 2008. The main goal of "Lokomotywa" is to build clusters (partnerships for growth) within the creative sector of the economy

The idea of the project was born from the need to establish close cooperation between  business and culture. This cooperation has a significant impact on the economic situation and the values prevailing in our country - on the behaviour of people, their relationships - the perception of culture as an element of human, city and state development .
The project involves collaboration with local government institutions amongst which Bielska Gallery BWA plays an important cultural role, with local businesses, artists and people associated with art.
We hope that attractive artistic events planned within the project would satisfy people of culture, entrepreneurs, investors and attract more interesting people to Bielsko-Biala.
The main actions planned within the "Lokomotywa - strategy of cluster
development " are:
1.    The program of  clusters development (2008-2011)
2.    The program of international art residencies "Incydenty" (September 2009)
3.    I edition of Art Fare (2010)
4.    Promotion of the Bielska Gallery BWA Modern Art Collection (2009-2011)
5.    Publicity of the book which will prove the significant culture impact on the economy and also document the "Lokomotywa" project. (2010-2011)
