 The exhibition of Paulina Poczęta consists of works created in the last few years. The works include small self-portraits, drawings and collages from the series A Touch of Humanity, Soap Bubble Stains and other works arranged in small series. The artist uses found objects - analogue or digital devices, household appliances which are broken, worn out, or no longer functioning. Paulina Poczęta uses art to restore their value and give them a second life. In her work, based largely on self-portrait, she raises the themes of loneliness, memory and reminiscences.

"My work is a struggle with daily routine. It involves searching, photographing, comparing and processing existing "realities" in the projections of their own visual sentiments, discovering the micro-senses and senselessness in myself and my immediate environment.

I am an art gatherer, collecting worn out socks, jotting down snippets of conversations, drawing, or to wax lyrical, painting - especially myself. I play a visual cootie catcher, trying to be attentive to all those unnecessary things that go unnoticed."

Paulina Poczęta - born in 1980 in Zawiercie. Graduate of the Faculty of Arts in Cieszyn, University of Silesia in Katowice, Department of Artistic Education in the Area of Fine Arts. Her diploma in graphic design was entered for the 2nd Best Graphic Art Diplomas Competition of the International Print Triennale Association in Kraków (2005. In 2013, she was awarded PhD in visual arts. She has worked in her alma mater since 2007, teaching drawing and running her own studio. She works with objects, drawings, prints and paintings. More than 20 solo and about 100 collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

She lives in Bielsko-Biała.

The exhibition runs from 2 to 25 Fubruary,2018.
