5 January - 3 March
Jan Grabowski - I Have Such a Colourful Imagination (lower room)
Meeting, album promotion: Friday 1 February, 4 pm.

Paintings, prints and sculptures by Jan Grabowski (1912-¬1998), degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, member of the artistic ensemble Grupa Beskid which operated in Bielsko-Biała in 1961-1987. He painted landscapes, portraits, still life and polychrome decorations in churches, as well as making sculptures, some of which can be found in the public spaces of Bielsko-Biała.

5 January - 3 February
Marcin Berdyszak - Beyond the Horizon of Culture, Beyond the Horizon of Art (upper room)
Vernissage: Friday 4 January, 6 pm.
Objects and installations by an artist exploring such themes as borderline social issues, stereotypes, unification processes, consumption and the merging of popular and elite cultures. Professor and rector of the University of Art in Poznań; creates objects and installations.

4 January - 3 February
Aleka Polis - Error in Spacetime (audiovisual room)
Meeting entitled I Can Have Four Holes in Three Days from Tomorrow: Sunday 13 January, 4 pm.

Meeting entitled I Can Have Four Holes in Three Days from Tomorrow featuring philosopher Dr Ewa Majewska (lecture) and sociologist Dr Joanna Wowrzeczka: Sunday, 13 January, 4pm.

New video, shown for the first time in Poland entitled Father's Posthumous Portrait and an accompanying painting Cyclo-Oxytocin 13. The artist shares with the viewer her experiences and reflections on the coexistence of love and death (Eros and Thanatos). She alludes to the tradition of depicting the dead body (Christ in the Tomb), death masks and coffin portraits and the symbolism of numbers, geometric figures and colours.
Aleka Polis (Aleksandra Polisiewicz) has a degree from the Institute of Art at the Cieszyn branch of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Artistic pursuits include video, documentary, animation, digital art, performance and painting.

13 February - 3 March
Czekalska + Golec - The Favorite Works ¼ (upper room)
Vernissage: Tuesday 12 February, 6 pm.
The vernissage will be followed by a concert by a musical and visual group called Nihilistyczny Alians Orgiastyczny Sternenhoch (Nihilistic Orgiastic Alliance Sternenhoch) promoting the latest book by Jerzy Truszkowski entitled Post Partum Post Mortem. Avant garde artists in the socialist reality of Poland 1968-1988 (from Jacek Krokodyl Malicki to Jacek Mikołaj Rydecki), published by Galeria Bielska BWA, February 2013.

Photographs and paintings by a couple of Łódź-based artists seeking harmony with nature. Czekalska and Golec promote a humble, gentle and respectful approach to other forms of life around us. They attempt to depict a world in which it is possible to dispose of your own selfish perception and try to empathise with another creature, thus creating equal chances and adopting the principles of partnership.
Tatiana Czekalska holds a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź , she lives and works in Łódź. Leszek Golec (born in 1959) holds a degree from the College of Photography in Warsaw (1989), he lives in Łódź and works in the Polish Sculpture Centre in Orońsko.

8 March - 1 April
Leszek Oprządek - X (Objects and Radiographs) (upper room)
Vernissage: Thursday 7 March, 6.30 pm
curator: Grażyna Cybulska
Sculptures and objects comprising two closely joined elements - a ceramic, concrete or gypsum mould, each hiding the mystery of the shape within, and a lit-up X-ray plate revealing a dreamlike image of the shape. The reflection between the two parts of the diptychs makes the viewer address the immortal questions about the causative factor of that which is visible and seemingly familiar.
Leszek Oprządek has a degree from the Faculty of Sculpture (1988) and the Faculty of Painting (1991) of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.

8 March - 1 April
Jarosław Modzelewski - Old Paper Works (lower room)
Vernissage: Thursday 7 March, 6 pm;
meeting with the artist: Friday 8 March, 6 pm
curator: Krzysztof Morcinek
Works on paper - templates, sketches and drawings by one of Poland's most outstanding contemporary Polish painters, co-founder of Gruppa, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. The artist, whom art lovers usually associate with painting, shows his rare and yet unknown works on paper, revealing to visitors of Galeria Bielska BWA his skills as a draughtsman.

5 - 21 April
The 11th Polish National Biennial of Drawing and Painting by Students of Secondary Schools of Art (upper room)
Vernissage: Friday12 April, 11 am
Award-winning works by students of (public and private) secondary schools and colleges of art from all over Poland. Organized by the Art School of Bielsko-Biała, this important biennial offers the young artists a perfect opportunity to present their creative skills, and innovative aspirations. This time jury will be headed Professor Stanisław Tabisz, Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.

6 - 28 April
Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2012 (lower room)
Vernissage: Friday, 5 April, 6 pm
Award-winning photographs selected for this ever-more-popular international exhibition in a competition co-organised since 1965 by the BBC Wildlife Magazine and the Natural History Museum in London. Galeria Bielska BWA hosts the exhibition for the tenth time (the exhibition has been held in Poland for 11 years).

12 April - 16 June
Bogdan Frymorgen - Unspoken Kazimierz (Aquarium)
Vernissage: Friday, 12 April,
Photographs showing Kraków district of Kazimierz by a well-known Polish journalist and London correspondent of RMF FM cooperating with BBC World Service who attempts to rekindle the collective memory of the Jews who formerly inhabited this part of the city. The exhibition coincides with the 40th anniversary of High School no.4 which Bogdan Frymorgen attended. It is noteworthy at this point to recall that Galeria Bielska BWA was erected on the site of a former synagogue destroyed by the Nazi Germans in 1939.

3 May - 13 June
Leon Tarasewicz - Painting (upper room)

„Back to whiteness" - performance by Leon Tarasewicz
Thursday 13 June at 12.00

Prepared especially for Galeria Bielska BWA, this new project by an internationally renowned contemporary artist will occupy the entire space of the upper room.

10 May - 16 June
Cuban Prints (lower room)
curator: Małgorzata Rozenau
Unique prints by artists from one of the world's most isolated countries, who put creative skill and authentic experience above everything else. The exhibition is organised in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.

22 June - 28 July
Katarzyna Majak - Women of Power (lower room)
Vernissage: Friday 21 June, 7 pm
curator: Agnieszka Żechowska
A cycle of 29 photographic portraits of woman possessing unusual powers, i.e. visionaries and medicine women, and a video showing a purifying ritual with the use of sage. The exhibition alludes to ancient Slavic customs and legends. The inauguration will coincide with the Summer Solstice.

22 June - 1 September
Going back to the Roots (upper room)
Opening and Performance: Friday, 21st of June, 7.30 pm
curator: Izabela Ołdak
Saturday, 22nd of June, 4 pm, discussion panel: Magic- the Primeval Mother of Arts conducted by dr Jerzy Bąbel, Dariusz Misiuna, Aldo Vargas-Tetmajer.
This international group exhibition presents a search for spiritual identity of Arts, its connection with Nature, so as the magical, mythological and psychedelic sources.

29 July - 1 September
Beyond Time/ Poza czasem (lower room)
Vernissage: Friday 9 August, 7 pm
curator: Izabela Ołdak, cooperation: Justyna Łabądź
As before, the third International Artistic Residencies Beyond Time/Poza czasem gathers artists from all over the world who volunteer to create joint projects, to be exhibited both in the gallery and public spaces of the town, which allude to the history and present day of Bielsko-Biała.

7 September - 6 October
Jakub Ciężki - "blackout" - painting (upper room)
Vernissage: Friday 6 September, 7.30 pm
Solo exhibition by the winner of the Grand Prix of the 40th Painting Biennial "Bielska Jesień 2011" whose abstract geometric paintings also offer hyper-realistic depiction of tangible objects.
Jakub Ciężki studied painting at the Artistic Faculty of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (degree in 2003).

7 September - 6 October
Małgorzata Rozenau - "Collective exhibition" - painting (lower room)
Vernissage:  Friday 6 September, 7 pm
Exhibition of works by a local artist and lecturer in Composition at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice whose works portray the present-day reality saturated with pop-culture and omnipresent commercials.

11-27 October
V Photo Art Festival 2013 (upper and lower rooms, 10 am - 7 pm)
Festival inauguration will be held in Teatr Polski, Friday, 11 October, 7 pm
curator: Inez Baturo, festival director
The fifth international festival of photography organized by the Photography Centre Foundation and the Municipality of Bielsko-Biała features about 20 solo exhibitions, including those held by world-renowned photographers from 20 different countries; most of them will have their first and only exhibitions in Poland. As always, the festival will feature the Marathon of Fame - a major event offering visitors a chance to meet world-famous photographers.
Galeria Bielska BWA will hold a number of exhibitions and the Portfolio Review, as well as hosting the Festival Office, Press Office and Meeting Point.

9 November - 29 December
The 41st Painting Biennial "Bielska Jesień 2013"
under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage
(upper and lower rooms)
Vernissage: Friday 8 November, 5 pm
curator: Grażyna Cybulska
Held since 1962, the competition gathers a few hundred Polish painters - mostly young. For the first time, this year the competition will also be open for artists who do not hold a degree in arts. Also for the first time, all of the works will be available online.
